A method of controlling a supercapacitor energy storage unit, included in a motor vehicle micro-hybrid system, is disclosed. The method includes: receiving an uplink burst packet transmitted by an optical network unit in a burst manner, converting a burst optical signal of the uplink burst packet into a continuous optical signal, and transmitting the continuous optical signal to a receiving device. The device advantageously provides the information to the user in a manner that minimizes an amount of attention and interaction required by the user while still permitting the user to rapidly manipulate the device while moving down a desired decision path. The support surface can pivot about an axis at the support-surface downstream end and thereby change a vertical spacing between the support surface upstream end and the outlet port.
