Method and apparatus for removably affixing a wheel assembly near the end and the edge of a leg of nearly any existing or newly manufactured ladder to aid a person transporting the ladder. First and second running gear beams extend rearwardly from the rearward ends of the first and second frame members with each of the running gear beams including an upwardly and rearwardly extending first beam portion, a rearwardly and horizontally extending second beam portion and a downwardly and rearwardly extending third beam portion. In particular embodiments of the invention, these methods and compositions apply to the cheesemaking process.
