Methods and apparatus to count people in images are disclosed. The stator chamber is closed by annular end plates at the cylindrical ends between the stator can and the stator band. The simulated signal is subtracted from a plant feedback signal which is derived from an output of the plant and the resulting difference signal is used to modify the input signal by feedback prior to deriving a plant input signal.
