The ordering is optimized by re-ordering, grouping andor partitioning the tape courses so as to reduce the non-productive motion of the machine. The system comprises means for determining a travel time, means for determining a ray-bending correction, means for determining an amplitude correction, and means for outputting data based on the travel time, the ray-bending correction, and the amplitude correction.
