Light engines having different light distributions can be included in a single luminaire and a subset of the light engines selectively driven to dynamically change the light distribution of the luminaire. The support element pivots about the interface element, with a free end of the element pivoting away from or through a portion of the main shell to prevent excessive bending and stress on the element. The signal is at least partially a basis to restrict the functionality, wherein the restriction does not completely disable the functionality.
