In one embodiment, variations are generated by filtering each layer of a musical selection with respect to a number of common, musical elements, with the filtering chosen to reflect a selected or desired skill-level. The statistical model may be built using training data. Some of these operating conditions may include, but are not limited to, a memory controller being empty of transactions directed towards a memory unit, a processor core executing a processor low-power mode, and a processor socket executing an idle mode.
