A process for the preparation of 3,5-dichloropyridine comprising reacting a trichloropyridine, a tetrachloropyridine or pentachloropyridine with zinc metal, in the presence of an acidic compound and at a temperature in the range 50-120 C. The fixing mechanism includes a base, a bottom wall disposed on the base, and two lateral walls disposed on the base and connected to the bottom wall. Produces a large berry with medium blue color and good scar, firmness, and flavor.
