A dynamic condition monitoring system is disclosed, such as for monitoring vibrations in complex machine systems. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as an electrostatic lens for use in an ion implanter. The shielding wire may be placed between adjacent ones of the signal wire to minimize crosstalk between the adjacent ones of the signal wire. The wall may be part of a hollow airfoil or an annular combustor or exhaust liner. The invention further comprises electro-optical devices composed of this composite material and a method of producing them.
