A faucet diverter assembly for dampening a pressure spike includes a body and a diverter bonnet assembled into the body defining a flow passageway therebetween. The system includes a housing having a body portion and a reversible cap adapted to screw on and off of the body portion. The support structure is connected to the forward pair of wings and connected to the rearward pair of wings, the support structure being arranged to drive the forward pair of wings alternately toward each other and apart and drives the second pair of wings alternately toward each other and apart.
