When a thin channel semiconductor layer formed on a side wall of a stacked film in which insulating films and gate electrodes are alternately stacked together is removed on the stacked film, a contact resistance between a vertical transistor including the channel semiconductor layer and the gate electrode, and a bit line formed on the stacked film is prevented from rising. In one implementation, a base station of a CDMA-based wireless network continuously monitors reverse link interference levels to detect an increased interference condition, and initiates a CDMA mobile identifying sequence to determine whether the interfering signal source is a proximate mobile being served by a neighboring base station of the network. This may be achieved by reducing the spreading factor. A fluid sample is delivered to the container and the device is subjected to centrifugation whereby the centrifugal load causes the elastic portion of the separator to deform so that the separator migrates into the fluid sample and stabilizes between the heavier and lighter fractions of the fluid sample. The elements of this data set are compared to each other to identify anomalous data and respond accordingly.
