A fuel cell comprises an anode and cathode disposed on either side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, and power is generated by supplying hydrogen to the anode and supplying hydrogen to the cathode. Fuel with cooling water is injected downhole for combustion in the compressed gasair stream to be used for in-situ-retorting of oil shale, volatile coal beds, tar sands, heavy oil and other hydrocarbon or carbonaceous deposits. To allow access to any Video Object Unit in the bitstream a housekeeping address table is used which is based on pieces of the bitstream of constant size per piece. The lubricant mist flowing through the housing effects lubrication and cooling of the bearing position and at the same time effects a pneumatic seal of the housing to the outside to prevent contaminants from penetrating. Alternative exemplary embodiments are also described in which reinforcement to the upper portion of the post is provided by plates that are secured into place on a location proximate the connection bolt and by a metal cap that sits atop the post.
