A method for monitoring noise associated with a communication link is provided that includes monitoring a plurality of communication links that facilitate a plurality of communication flows and determining whether an error parameter associated with a selected one or more of the communication links has exceeded a predefined threshold. The channel quality data is used to determine a signal format for use in common downlink channels, wherein the signal format may comprise, for example, a modulation scheme or code rate for use in the common downlink channels. The display processor may receive display signals of disparate forms from each of various electronic devices, generate the composite display signal to define multiple windows wherein each of the display signal corresponds to at least one window, and transmit the composite display signal to the display.
