A method for providing noninvasive electrical stimulation of a single acupuncture site for treatment of menstrual cramps or treating dysmenorrhea. In one method, the semi-permeable membrane is secured to the \u201carticulating\u201d surface of a resorbable fibrous matrix that has been seeded, before implantation, with chondrocyte or similar cells that generate cartilage. Generally, the ramp is made up of an upwardly inclined support structure having an upper surface and a lower surface. The decode process decodes the encoded images and the encoded parameters and stores each image in a separate image buffer, and each set of associated parameters in a buffer descriptor structure associated with the image buffer. Multiple assemblies may be used, offset from each other, to provide additional and more precise position information.
