A fuel injection detecting device computes an actual fuel-injection-end timing based on a rising waveform of the fuel pressure detected by a fuel sensor during a period in which the fuel pressure increases due to a fuel injection rate decrease. Field inhomogeneities are measured while the examination region is moved through the imaging region by a continuous displacement of the patient bed with the patient positioned thereon. The control electronics enables the addressing of an individual or preselected set of probes, for controlling reading andor writing, thereby securing the considerable advantage of versatility and efficiency of readingwriting in a parallel operation mode. Computational complexity is significantly reduced with respect to other known transforms without adversely impacting compression or quality.
