A ball-valve in which the housing within which the ball is received comprises two half members resiliently biased together and adapted to separate from each other against such bias. Detailed evaluations show that large dataset applications and multiple concurrent VMs achieve significant performance improvements using MemX compared against virtualized local and iSCSI disks. Methods of installing said complementary locking system on the legs of a jack-up offshore drilling platform are also disclosed.
