The invention concerns a device for stopping the motor when the load on the motor exceeds a predetermined value. A nominal operating voltage is used to categorize integrated circuits into a plurality of performance categories, and the nominal operating voltage is adjusted for each performance category to optimize the yield within that performance category. The software components are easily integrated with existing development tools, have native functionality, and can be implemented independently of Common Information Model or Simple Network Management Protocol architectures.
