An imaging apparatus for capturing an image using a solid-state imaging device includes the following elements. In some embodiments, this includes recovering a backup data to a remote location, using an IO intercept to access the recovered data, modifying the recovered data a first time, completing the modification of the recovered data, preserving the IO intercept, and storing the modified data in the remote location. Other embodiments of the invention are directed toward heat management, and other process enhancements for making the system especially efficient.
