A method for restoring a crack formed within a turbo charger engine transition section, the method including preparing a crack in the transition section to receive a material within the crack, applying the material within the crack, and retaining structural integrity of the transition section proximate the crack while at least one of preparing the crack and applying the material. Such treatments surprisingly impart these two simultaneous effects to target fabrics andor fibers because fluorochemicals generally provide moisture repellency rather than moisture wicking capabilities. The curtain coating stability is further improved by combining the high viscosity coating liquid for intermediate layer with other technologies such as electrifying web, heating web upstream of coating point andor keeping web tension higher than some specified value.
