The invention is related to methods and apparatus for providing a resistance variable memory element with improved data retention and switching characteristics. A relative angle is measured between the photographed object and the monitor. The observation system then identifies all possible components in a dependency chain for the request, and all such components that are configured for change notifications. Methods for using these embodiments are also described.
