A wound dressing containing cellulose-containing material and alginate, wherein the alginate is crosslinked through a polycarboxylic acid ester bond to the celluose of the cellulose-containing material. In one preferred embodiment, a memory array is provided comprising a plurality of groups of sub-arrays and circuitry operative to simultaneously write data into andor read data from a selected number of groups of sub-arrays. The present invention uses the above elements to reduce the vertical height, the horizontal width, and the occupied area. For example, the conductive material which permits minute processing and has both low resistance and high EM resistance such as tungsten is employed. The effects of self-phase modulation, inter-symbol interference, and cross-phase modulation on the signals are minimized.
