A magnetic logic device and methods of manufacturing and operating an MLD are provided. One series coil includes series-connected U phase coils that are wound oppositely in direction by turns in the order in which the coils are series-connected and that are arranged in the manner that one and the other coil sets of the U phase coils are separated in the circumferential direction of a stator core and are opposite to each other in the radial direction thereof. In use, such list may be utilized for accessing the blocks in a more efficient manner, by accessing a plurality of such blocks in parallel, as well as performing the block accessing and storage volume mounting in parallel. A magnetically sensitive switch within the device cooperates with a magnet fastened to the jamb plate and further cooperates with a mode selection switch to effect either the chime mode or delayed alarm mode when the door is opened. Since the sensor biomolecule is capable of interacting with the target biomolecule, the multichromophore andor multichromophore complex can provide enhanced detection signals for a target biomolecule.
