A disposal device used for the disposal of hazardous contaminated sharps, such as hypodermic needles, generated from treating patients. The method uses ISSG oxide instead of conventional PECVD oxide so that the baseemitter interface damage can be reduced. Also disclosed are kits for carrying out the methods of the invention.
