Embodiments of the invention include a phosphorus containing flame retardant which may be the reaction product of a reaction mixture where the reaction mixture includes at least one active hydrogen-containing compound and at least one phosphorus containing compound. The supply will synchronize to dynamic loads making it particularly useful in circuits with periodic high peak current power demands, for example, gate drive circuits employed in regulated switched mode power converters. Such a semiconductor may be elongated and may have, at any point along a longitudinal section of such a semiconductor, a ratio of the length of the section to a longest width is greater than 4:1, or greater than 10:1, or greater than 100:1, or even greater than 1000:1.
